I am sorry to see you in pain. But yes, if you are passionate about something and you have the will, you should. You haven't mentioned the reason why you did not take up VNIT in 2018. It is a good College. Having said that VIT doesn't lag behind either.

On the basis of preference i will always suggest Computer Science or Information Technology.

But with this rank it is impossible to get CSE under category 1. Other than CSE you can get any branch you want under 1st category.
