IT deals with application of computer technology whereas CSE operates on facilitate these applications.

Well, there is not much difference in the course curriculum of CSE and IT in VIT , but there will be changes in the name of the subjects a bit.  In first year, IT will include chemistry and mathematics as subject and CSE will focus on physics and maths. Similary 2nd onwards, CSE will focus on networking , computer architecture ,  programming etc. IT will have these too but in a nutshell, very breif manner. For example: Java will be a core subject in IT but CSE will have this subject as an elective.

As you have mentioned that you have not got any seat in phase 1 counselling and you are getting seats in category 4 and 5 and you want to wait for phase 3 counselling as you want in category 1 or category 2.

So you can wait for phase 3 counselling but see in these type of colleges one cannot predict the exact dynamics what will happen in a particular year. So, it is also possible that you may not get seats in category 1 or category 2 so you should calculate all your possibilities and take your decision.

The choice to opt for your preferred category solely depends upon which campus you are going to choose. With the mentioned rank you will get electronics and communication engineering at Vellore campus under category 3 while you can get the same under category 2 at Chennai campus. Andhra Pradesh and Bhopal campuses have even lower cutoffs so there is a good probability that you may get your desired course at these campus under first category.

There is very less chance that you will get any seat in any campus of the VIT. The minimum rank is required approx 35K to get any seat in the Chennai campus and in the rank of 55K you will get only lower branches like Mechanical, there is no chance that you will get CSE or any branch here.

On comparison of Chartered Accountant with an Air hostess. There is a huge difference in both professions. One requires accounting ability and the other requires more interactive abilities. Well, a CA earns more money compared to an air hostess. The average yearly salary of an air hostess is around 5.5 LPA were as a CA fresher earns around 6-7 LPA. So, the difference is already mentioned to you.

Chartered Accountant is more difficult whereas comparing with an Air hostess. And Difficulty level in the clearing of the CA exam is very high. So, choose wisely

According to previous year's cut-offs it can be said that it is difficult to get B.Tech Computer Science Engineering in Vellore Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh in Category 1.  You can try for Category 2, 3, 4 and 5 but you need to pay additional fees along with regular Tution Fees every year, if you get seat in other categories expect Category 1. For admission into B. Tech Computer Science Engineering branch in Vellore Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh you must atleast get Rank below 18000 based on previous year's cut-offs for category 1. For other categories the Rank may vary. But cut-offs varies from year to year. Also cut-offs varies from category to category and campus to campus. Cut-offs depends on many factors like difficulty level of the exam, number of students appeared, number of seats available, etc.

Yes, you may get a seat in CS for 70000 rank. It depends on which university or college you have applied. Like if you have applied for IP university then there is a good chance for you to get in a A or B+ college of IP.

No, admissions for engineering courses at Vellore Institute of technology is not offered through JEE. All the Btech seats are offered on the basis of performance in in VITEEE followed by counselling.

However admissions at VIT Bhopal and Andhra Pradesh are also done through to a certain defined process other than VITEEE.
