Hello dear ..
The answer depends a lot on how you define "worth" and other available options you have.
If you can get an admit from NIT, IIT or BITS for M.tech in you specialisation, then choose them. The next best admit is definitely VIT. There is no better university than VIT that has so dense network with various companies that almost 6000 students from various branches get placed here.
Being a b.tech mechanical engineer, I cannot vouch for the facilities available for your interested specialization in M.tech, but it sure is one of finest when it comes to b.tech CSE.
Best of luck. ..

It all depends on your caliber, you passion and your interests. If you are really interested in automotive engineering, you'll definitely get a good job from vit. I am a student of VIT Vellore, B tech in automotive engineering 2015 passout. I currently work as an engineer in Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. in automotive division. It's been 2 years since I passed out and this is my second company. About 40% of my classmates work in top tier automotive companies like Ford, fiat, Maruti, Mercedes, etc .
