With 447 marks it's quite tough to secure a GMC seat in West Bengal,last year 518 secured a seat in Cooch zbehar Government Medical College and Hospital, and with this year increasing cutoffs, chances seem more difficult, you can consider other options of private colleges or deemed universities, cut-offs

Going by the previous trends of state wise cut offs, Bihar tends to set it's cut off higher than that of West Bengal. The quality of education is similar in both of these states. Since, the student is getting a good marks, he should try for Bihar's Government

Hello,

It's difficult to secure a GMC seat with your marks, the reason being last year cut-off has been above 500 for your respective category against state quota, but you can try for private colleges through state counselling, there is also option of deemed university, cut-offs are subjective to change

Yeah, as far as state or government medical colleges are concerned, he can under All India Quota, but he wont get the Home State Advantage, hence the need for a higher cutoff and lower number of seats, so he should be prepared accordingly.
