Hello,

You have good academic background and also work experience, however your cat score is low ,most of the reputated institute would give a call at cat score of above 95.I regret to inform you this but you might not get a good college this year.

Best of luck

The Following are my acads: 10th 8.6 cgpa, 12th 93% , Degree 87%. Ive got 34.63 percentile in CAT 2019. Work Experience 8 months. Im a B. com graduate working as an accountant, OBC female. Which colleges can I apply? What are the courses I can apply for?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 8th Jan, 2020

Your academic marks are good but the fact that your CAT percentile is 34.63 might not get you any of the IIMs or for that matter any top or new B schools. Am afraid, all the reputed Colleges atleast need 70 percentile in CAT. As disheartening it might sound, you may get a seat in a local MBA College of your town/city. There are Institutions that do not need CAT score for admission. You may give it a try there. Or, you can check the options that you might have with your sectional cut offs at: https://bschool.careers360.com/pathfinder/cat . We do not have your sectional cut offs and so you can use this link and take a call whether you want to take a break and repeat CAT next year or join any college.

I have around a decade of work experience and, after studying upto B2 in German from the Goethe Institut, Chennai would like to do a Masters in German Literature and Translation. How good is EFLU for an MA in German and what are the prospects after completing an MA there?

Ameya Narendra Parkar 8th Jan, 2020
Dear Vaibhav,
The English and Foreign Languages University, [EFLU] Is really great place to get MA in German language.
EFLU hosts placement sessions every year for graduating students.  Many teaching opportunities are also attracted to the institution. Several internship opportunities are also available while doing the course and even after.
Most students applying for a job usually get placed in some company or teaching jobs. The university also gives importance to research and many students get research opportunities in different institutions across the world.
The teachers care about their students and actively help the students for these processes.

I hope this information helps you

All the best

CAT %ile 88.55 {VARC %ile 97.94 DI %ile 54.32 QA %ile 79.44 } (10 cbse ::10CGPA 12 cbse:: 87.4% B.tech ::66%) Not any Work experience...what can i get?

manisha.gupta 6th Jan, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

As a general Category the chances are very less to get a call from any IIMs. The other colleges you can apply in colleges-

IBS Business School, Mumbai

SPJIMR, Mumbai

Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai

TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal

Institute of Finance and International Management, Bangalore

University Business School, Punjab University, Chandigarh

But CAT marks are not the only parameter involved in the selection procedure. After CAT exam every college in which you apply prepares a merit list to call students for next round of interview based on your aggregate score which comprises of many parameters such as CAT marks, 10th, 12th and graduation percentage, work experience etc. whose weight age varies for all different colleges. After the round of interview again a merit list is prepared which includes marks of your interview, GD and WSAT which along with CAT marks generally have the highest weightage.

You can also use CAT Pathfinder tool given below to know your other admission possibilities.

Good Luck!

Harshita Gupta 5th Jan, 2020
Hey,

Your CAT percentile is enough to make you eligible for almost all IIMs. You can get a call from most of the 1st tier B-school.
Some of the institute where you can apply are as follows:
  • Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi (IIFT)
  • Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM A)
  • Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM B)
  • Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM C)
  • Indian Institute of Management, Indore (IIM I)
  • Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM K)
  • Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM L)
  • Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (ISB)
  • Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS)
  • Management Development Institute, Gurgaon (MDI)
  • National Institute of Industrial Engineering, Mumbai (NITIE)
  • Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay (SJMSOM)
  • S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai (SPJIMR)
  • Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur (XLRI)

All these have a cut-off around 80-95 percentile and there are other factors such as writing test, group discussions, personal interview and work experience that are important in deciding your admission. The fees of all these institutes ranges from 9-22 lacs INR with IIM Ahmedabad being the Highest. They are well known for high placements and recruiters coming from reputed companies.
The environment of education and facilities are also top class.

Hope this helps!

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 5th Jan, 2020

Hi,

see as per your cat score you may get call from new iims, like iim ranchi, iim raipur, iim siramaur, iim rohtak, iim trichy etc. but IIM also evaluates academic back ground score also, from that point of view you have moderate chances in new iims.

you may check category wise iims score from below link,
