I have scored 87 percentile and 91.90 percentile in cat and xat exam respectively besides 2-3 years of work experience in two companies mainly Earnest n young (16 months experience). 10 th, 12 th and graduate score is more than 90 percent. can i get a call from spjain

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 22nd Jan, 2020
The minimum cutoff required by SPJIMR for both CAT and XAT this year is 85 percentile (for profile based shortlisting process). Since you have performed really well in both the exams and have a percentile above the required one and considering your profile you can definitely get a call from SPJIMR during their profile based shortlisting process. Since your XAT scores and better then you may get a call through XAT. But you can get other colleges also based on your scores like
  • KJ Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research
  • Great Lakes Chennai
  • IMT Ghaziabad
  • GIM Goa
  • TAPMI Manipal and other colleges.

Good Luck

Is work experience strictly necessary for an MBA (finance) admission into IIMs for science background and non engineering students? If so what type of experience may they ask?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 1st Mar, 2020

hi,

the admission in iims after clearing cat exam , for any graduate students work experience is not mandatory, however if you have certain years of industrial or any experience after your graduation it will be an added advantage, now coming to fresh students work experience is not mandatory, some of the programs like executive mba , where work experience is needed.

I am getting 59.67 marks in ECE branch GATE 2020. I have more than 90% percentage in both 10th and 12th, also I have 80% in graduation,. I have 1.5 years work experience. Which techno-management courses can I get in IITs or NITIE?

Vaibhav Goswami 29th Feb, 2020

Hello there!!

Well IITs do not offer admission into management courses through GATE. CAT is used as the selection criteria.

Coming to NITIE, it offers a variety of techno management courses. I am attaching a link to the official document published by NITIE regarding the past 3 year cutoffs and eligibility criteria.

will the work experience help a btech graduate to pursue mba in india?

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 20th Jan, 2020
It is not always necessary to have a work experience to land onto a good job through MBA. Work experience definitely helps as companies would value you more considering the fact that you already know about the work situations of organizations. But companies ( during placements through MBA) usually value only those who have an experience of not more than 3 years. People with more than 3 years of experience are supposed to be slow learners as the companies find it difficult to teach them their culture as they become too accustomed to their previous organizational culture.

Companies like Vedanta Group prefer freshers whereas companies like Tata Steel, TCS or some pharmaceutical companies strictly require a candidate to not have an experience for more than 2 years, while recruiting from campus.

Hi. I have a GMAT score of 470. have 2.5 years work experience. 10th - 89%. 12th - 91%. BE - 89%. what are my chances of getting a call for TAPMI? Please reply.

Sampriti Gupta Student Expert 19th Jan, 2020
TAPMI Manipal has already released their cutoffs for various entrance exams. For GMAT one needs a minimum of 630 scores. But if you've appeared for other exams like CAT or XAT you can get a call if you have a minimum of 85 percentile there.

Moreover you have a work experience of 30 months which means if you'll be eligible for profile based shortlisting. But since your GMAT scores are far lesser than what is required you should try with other exams (if you've appeared for those exams and have a percentile above 80).

Good Luck
