can i use yoga instead of cs as a fifth subject for calculating 75% for admission in iit???

Akansha Sharma 16th Nov, 2024

No, Yoga cannot be considered as a fifth subject for calculating the 75% eligibility criteria for admission to IITs. The subjects considered for this calculation include mathematics, physics, chemistry, and one additional subject from the approved list, such as biology, chemistry, or computer science, among others. Yoga is not typically included in this list. For accurate and detailed information, it's recommended to refer to the official JEE Main eligibility criteria or consult IIT's admission guidelines.

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing great.

As per your question, your intermediate 2nd year result will itself declare the best marks you scored. For example if you have scored more marks in improvements exam then, that will resemble in your marksheet. If it did not resemble then carry the certificate with you for the counselling.

Hope this helps!!

Can yoga marks be added in calculating our percentage as per the 75 percent criteria for JEE or not? Please reply as it is important for me to know.I am a PCMB student with yoga as my skill subject. So can I include yoga instead of biology as fifth subject other than physics chemistry maths and Engl.

Satvik 18th Oct, 2024

Hi

hope you doing well

For the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) eligibility criteria regarding the 75% cutoff, here’s what you need to know:

  1. Eligible Subjects: The percentage calculation for the 75% criteria typically includes the following five subjects:

    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Mathematics
    • English
    • One additional subject from the relevant subjects (usually a core subject like Biology for PCMB students).

According to the guidelines provided by the National Testing Agency (NTA), skill subjects like Yoga are generally not considered equivalent to core academic subjects. Therefore, while you can have Yoga as an additional subject in your curriculum, it usually cannot replace a core subject like Biology when calculating the percentage for the 75% eligibility criterion.

Final Confirmation is that, It is essential to verify this information with your school or the relevant authority (like NTA) to get the most accurate guidance based on the latest regulations and any specific policies that may apply.

hope you get it and find this info useful

Best wishes.
