No it is not possible for a general category candidate to get an NIT seat with 90 percentile in JEE Mains. To get into NIT's the least possible percentile for any category is 94 and above. For general category you need to score 98.7 and above.

The NTA score refers to the percentile and not the actual or aggregate marks scored by the candidate in the exam. It is the relative performance of a candidate with respect to the other appearing candidates. It is not the percentage of marked scored in the exam.
