The admission process for Class 12 for the academic year 2025–2026 generally starts during the months of May or June. Most schools that are affiliated with state boards or the CBSE board begin their admission process soon after the Class 11 annual results are declared. The admission process includes issuing application forms either online or offline. If you have scored 296 marks in NEET 2025 and you belong to the SC category with a rank of 46339, then you may have a fair chance of getting a government MBBS seat in Karnataka under the state quota. Generally, the cutoff marks for SC category candidates in Karnataka are lower compared to the general category due to reservation benefits. In previous years, SC candidates with similar marks have secured seats in some government medical colleges in Karnataka. However, the chances of admission depend on the number of available seats, the difficulty level of the exam in that year, the total number of applicants, and the category-wise cutoff. Therefore, you are advised to attend the state counselling conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority, fill in as many choices as possible, and stay updated with the counselling schedule. You are also encouraged to apply for All India Quota seats, as a few reserved seats may also be available in other states.
