With a WBJEE GMR rank of 81,823 and ST category rank of 662, getting admission to government colleges, especially for popular branches like CSE or ECE, is very unlikely because government colleges usually close ST category seats much earlier, often within a few thousand ranks. However, you might explore option in branches with higher cutoff ranks like Civil or Mechanical in some government colleges, but chances even there are low with that rank. Private colleges might offer better opportunities for your rank. So, getting a government college seat is quite tough with these ranks.

Hey! With your SC rank 7,299, you have a very good chance of getting admission in Institute of Pharmacy, Jalpaiguri under the Home State quota. Usually, for SC category students, the closing rank for this college is much higher than your rank, so you are comfortably within the range. Make sure you participate in all rounds of counseling, because some seats may get filled in the first round while others open up in later rounds. Fill your college and branch choices carefully, putting your most preferred options first. Also, keep all your documents ready for verification. If you stay alert and plan well during the counseling process, chances are high that you will secure a seat in this college. Just keep an eye on the counseling schedule and submit everything on time, and you should be fine.
Hey Maanav:)
Thanks for reaching out!
Yes,you can start attending classes in your round 1 college if you don't want to waste time, but remember your admission there is provisional if you opted for upgradation. If you later get a new seat in round 2,your round 1 seat will be cancelled and you'll have to shift. The fee you paid in round 1 will be adjusted when you join the upgraded college, though a small part maybe reduced depending on Institute's rules. This is why many students wait until round 2 is out.But if you prefer not to lose time you can join the classes, just be ready to move if upgradation happens.
Hope this helps!
Hey! With your GMR rank 35,000 and TFW rank 8,000, you have a decent chance of getting admission in CSE under the TFWS quota. Based on previous year trends, colleges like Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Kolkata or Calcutta Institute of Technology, Howrah are possible options because your TFWS rank falls within their closing rank range. Colleges like Academy of Technology, Hooghly might also be an option depending on seat availability in counseling. Make sure you participate in all counseling rounds, because seats sometimes get filled in the first round while other good options open in later rounds. Fill your college preferences carefully, putting your most preferred ones first. Also, keep all your documents ready for verification. If you stay alert and plan well during counseling, you have a good chance of securing a TFWS seat in CSE.
Hey:)
If you got a seat in the first phase and went for verification, you don't need to worry about the stamp getting cancelled manually. If you had chosen the upgrade option, then in the second phase if you get a new college, your allotment and stamp are automatically cancelled and you just move to the new one .But if you had frozen the seat(no upgrade),then you can't change it in the 2nd round unless you formally withdraw your admission, and once you withdraw your admission you won't be considered further. So, basically, the system itself handles the cancellation if you go for upgradation.
