a jewellery shop owner conducts his business in the following manner.every once in a while he raises his price by a certain percentage and a while later he reduces his prices by the same percentage. After one such updown cycle, he increase and then decreasing his price by x%, the price of a jewel
Hi,
Let's solve this question by assumption method.
Suppose the current price of the jewel (after the last cycle) is 100
Now let us assume that the increase in price which is x% is 10%, so the new price will be
100+ 10% of 100= 110
Now he decreases the price by same x% so the decrease will also be 10%
So the new price will be
110- 10% of 110 = 99.
Therefore the final price of the jewel will be 99.
