Dear Questioner ,
Great that you have come back with your doubts and I can help you with this.
As you informed that you’re a BSc final year student, I don’t see here any point that you should again invest five-years in getting an LLB degree, when now you can do it in just three years after you complete your graduation.
See, through CLAT, you are offered admissions into the National Law Universities (NLUs) to pursue five-year integrated law programme which eventually will award you a BA LLB/BCom LLB/BSc LLB degree.
Since you already will be a graduate with BSc, it’s better to go for a three-year LLB programme and not again investing five-years for the equivalent degree.
The CLAT, AILET and like exams are meant for pursuing a five-year integrated law programme best suited for those who have just passed their 10+2, so that they can get an LLB degree in next five years and save a year while going through the three-years of graduation and then three years of LLB degree.
I hope this brings further clarity. In case there is still something where I can help you, please ask as many questions as you can.
Asking questions is a good habit. It helps you in learning more, knowing more and clarifying your doubts.
All the best!
Thank you.
Dear Questioner ,
Yes, there is no age cap for CLAT. Neither NLSIU Bangalore will ever ask for fulfilling the age criteria because as per the Supreme Court of India orders of March 2016, the cap for admissions to undergraduate law programmes including BA LLB and three-year LLB have been removed.
You might have come across some rather old notification or old admission brochure. The NLISU Bangalore which was the first NLU to be set up under the integrated law programme policy framework is bound to abide by the BCI Rules and Regulations and Supreme Court Orders.
I hope this brings clarity to your confusion. In case there is still something with which I can help you out, feel free to counter-question me.
Till then keep up the habit of questioning and clarifying your doubts.
All the best!
Thank you.
