Hello Neel,
Social science is an academic discipline concerned with society and the relationships among individuals within a society. It has many branches like anthropology, archaeology, communication studies, economics, history, human geography, jurisprudence, linguistics, political science, psychology, public health, and sociology.
Political science, psychology, history, anthropology, and sociology are the other popular options in India apart from economics that has better-paying jobs.
Some of the great career options other than teaching or being an economist are-

In India, only some colleges offer this programme at undergraduate level. Mostly, students study political science as UG course and go for Masters in International Relations which is offered at many prestigious Indian universities.
2. Researchers (sociology/history/ geography/ archaeology)

Though becoming a researcher is not an easy task, but when you gain enough expertise, you have many opportunities.
If you don’t want to teach, you can become a curriculum developer, scholar or simply continue an investigation.
3. Political Scientist-
Political scientists study the origin, development, and operation of political activities. They research political ideas and analyze governments, policies, political trends, and related issues.
While in India, the salary of a political scientist is average but in foreign countries, they earn more than any social science field expert.
4. Civil Services-
It is one of the most sought-after career options for a social science graduate. You can join Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and others by clearing the Civil Services Examination (which is regarded as one of the toughest exams in India).
As a civil servant, you have better pay along with other perks provided by the government and the utmost respect in society.
5. Other jobs-
