Are cutoff based on marks or AIR in JEE Advanced exam?

Of course it's based on AIR.

The cutoff is based on jee advanced marks and not on rank. The pre decided cutoff are
General 35%
Obc 31.5%
Sc 15%
St 15%
However if the number of students getting cutoff is low, then cutoff is lowered like in 2018 cutoff was lowered.
