Dear Kritika,
The examination patterns of NEET and JEE examinations are considerably different from each other.
NEET, which caters to medical and dental aspirants who hail from a Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) background, is conducted on the basis of a total of 180 questions. While the Physics and Chemistry sections contain 45 questions each, the Biology section contains 90 questions. The test is conducted in an offline mode, with the help of the OMR sheet format. Negative marking (1 mark for each wrong answer) is the norm.
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) comprises two different examinations - JEE Main and the JEE Advanced. JEE (Main) is conducted for two separate papers. Paper-1 (for Engineering aspirants) consists of 90 questions from the domains of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with each question having a weightage of four marks. The total marks of Paper-1 is 360. Paper-2 (for Architecture and Planning aspirants) consists of 30 questions in the domain of Mathematics followed by 40 questions in Aptitude and 2 questions in Drawing Aptitude. The total marks of Paper-2 is 390. Only students who qualify JEE-Main can appear for the JEE-Advanced which is conducted through two compulsory papers, each of three hours duration. Both the papers contains questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The test is held online in computer format and all the questions are multiple choice, objective type and numerical in nature.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other doubts.
