Unlike Engineering Stream, MBBS colleges do not provide Placement opportunities because it is a completely different profession. So the parameters that are taken into consideration are Infrastructure, Faculty and Rankings. And Sher-e-Kashmir tops the rankings amongst all Medical Colleges across Jammu and Kashmir.

This college is Known for it's infrastructure and faculty. It is government college and deemed to be university. When it comes to MBBS, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S) is a five and half-year course. The course involves four and a half-year of classroom study followed by a year of rotating internship offered by Sher-I-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar and approved by MCI.
