Hi Lateef,
As per the new NEET eligibility criteria, “study of Biology/Bio-technology as an additional subject at 10+2 level shall not be permissible”. It only debars candidates who did not opt for Biology in Class 11 but took it only in Class 12 to be able to appear for entrance examinations requiring Biology scores, along with those candidates who completed Class XII without Biology but opted for it later in compartment as an additional improvement paper to enhance their overall Class 12 score. If you have studied Biology in both Classes 11 and 12 nd secured an aggregate of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, you are eligible to apply. The only problematic situation in your case is that your final marksheet reflects that Biology was an ‘additional’ subject in Class XII. However, from what I can infer, you have studied Biology in both Classes XI and XII. This will be proven by your admit card as well as your Class XI marksheet. Now you will be able to appear for NEET as no documentary proof is required proving you did not take Biology as an additional subject in Class XII. Even during All India Quota counselling, you don’t have to submit documents online. Only at the time of reporting to your allotted college do you have to bring with you your admit cards as well as your Class XII marksheets. Your admit card will prove that you studied Biology as a main subject.
