Hello there. Yes an IT company can take someone for internship on the paid basis. The basic procedure to be followed is.
Apply for the internship via some platform like Internshala or you can directly send your resume or CV to the head of company along with your application. If your resume have some weight then the company will get in contact with you and an interview will take place. If you are able to clear the interview then you are selected and you can start your job. However in most of the cases you are not being paid in starting. Firstly your work is being observed and if you are able to produce good results, you will be paid as per your work.
