As you are currently pursuing your diploma 2 nd year you are now not elgible to write JEE mains. Anyways after completing your 3rd year and you are not allowed to NIT, IIIT’s. If you Write JEE mains then JEE advance, then you are allowed to IIT. It means you are only elgible to get Admission in IIT only.
Sakshi in second year of diploma you can't be able to apply for the JEE mains but yaah once when you will be in the third year of your respective diploma degree then at that stage you can be eligible for applying for the JEE mains but make sure one thing that diploma holders will can't be able to take the admission in NIT institutes but yaah after passing the JEE mains you can be able to apply for the JEE advance and with that rank in IIT-JEE you can be admitted into the IIT premises as an Class 12th passed student.
