I you're talking about pursuing BSc in physics or chemistry and side by side preparing to crack JEE. I think its a great idea, physics honors will include physics and also maths that will help you and also its a good 2nd option.

You give JEE for BE/BTECH. JEE is an entrance exam and it is not needed for Bsc . Bsc admissions are done by merit basis or depend on colleges.. vary college to college.
