I would suggest that do not take a chance. Just in case the invigilator suspects that you are not the same person and disallows you to appear for the exam, then it would not be a great idea. At the same time, you would not like any anxious moments before the GATE exam.

Officials have not mentioned anything related to this but I would suggest you to keep the same look just like the picture which you have uploaded while applying to be in safer side.
