Hi Nagaditya,
Yes, you can switch streams in engineering colleges after first year i.e. after 2nd semester, not after 1st semester. Some colleges also allow switching of streams after 1st semester. The qualifications required to switch streams also varies from college to college as you are requires to get this much SGPA or percentage to get any of the respective stream. Also there should be vacant seats in the stream you are willing to switch.
