Yes you can take admission for M.Tech without GATE as well:
- Sponsored seats: Some IITs, NITs and other institute offer M.Tech admission to candidates sponsored by government organisations, PSUs example
- Some institutes conduct their own M.Tech exam as well
- Universities like BITS,VIT,SRM offer M.Tech without GATE based on merit or own entrance exam
- But it would be advisable to attempt GATE paper and get admission in Top IITs
