Hi Priya
There are 2 major departments in Navy - Engineering And Navigation Department.you are not eligible for both the departments since you have commerce background.
For Merchant Navy, you need to Have PCM(Physics, Chemistry, Maths) in class 12. But a ship also requires someone to handle all the money related matters on board, for that they appoint a pursuer so you are eligible for that , you must be a graduate in commerce with good knowledge in accounts and computers.
Since you are a commerce student you can apply for crew staff only ( crew staff includes Oiler, Motor Man, Fitter, Pumpman, Cook with relevant experience) , you are not Eligible for high post of technical officers, Caption etc.
But, you have a way out , you can do graduation in Nautical science, then you can apply for those posts as well which are related to Technical departments.
You should take proper counselling for this and take your time , think about it , and think wisely, you can also apply for Indian Army and many other fields related to your stream so take some time, do some research on it and then Decide.
All the Best!!
