cotton fabrics weight calculation
Answer (1)
Hii!
The fabric weight is measured in ounce per square yard unit. While measuring a cotton fabric's weight, a square yard price of fabric is taken and weighed on a scale. A square yard cotton usually weighs 6.1 ounces.
The formula is-
Ends/ inch * width ( in inches ) * 1.10.
Divide this by wrap count * 840
This gives weight of one yard fabric.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
