OBC (Other backward classes) is sub divided into creamy layer (CL) and Non creamy layer (NCL).
OBC- CL includes
- Income more than 8lakhs
- Treated same as general category students
- No benefit in government schemes and exams
OBC- NCL includes
- Income less than 8 lakhs
- Get benefit in government schemes and competitive exams ( 27 percent reservation)
As mentioned by you, your family income is less than 8lakh so you belong to OBC- NCL ie- OBC 2 category
