Do we have to do engineering for architecture ?

No, you do not need to study engineering to become an architect.

In India, the standard undergraduate route is a 5-year B.Arch. (Bachelor of Architecture) degree, regulated by the Council of Architecture (CoA).

For B.Arch. admission, the current eligibility requires Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in Class 12, along with one of the prescribed additional subjects, with the required aggregate marks. A 10+3 diploma with Mathematics can also meet the eligibility route.

So the basic path is:

• Class 12 → B.Arch. (5 years) → CoA registration → Architect
