BVMS(Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery)is an undergraduate Veterinary Science Course which deals with the branch of science dealing with all types of Animals.BVMS is a 5 year long bachelor degree course.

The course is also referred to as B.V.Sc. & AHB, an abbreviated form for Bachelors in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry.Veterinary Council of India is a statutory body established under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Government of India.

Yes, it is now compulsory for a candidate to give NEET exam to apply for courses which include MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, and BVSc. To get a government veterinary college, one must score above 550.

The eligibilty criteria is as follows-

• Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, as compulsory subjects from a recognized board.

• Class 12 or equivalent appearing aspirants are also eligible to apply for NEET.

• Candidate must be 17 years of age or above at the time of attempting of exam

• The class 12 percentage required for NEET 2022 exam is separate for each category and can be listed as under. NEET eligibility marks in class 12 to be considered are aggregate marks only for PCB subjects

  • GENERAL - 50%,

  • SC/ST/OBC - 40%,

  • PWD - 45%
