Domicile requirement of Tamilnadu: Parents should be a permanent resident of TN for at least 6 years. What does this statement mean? Those who are natives of TN and lived for at least 6 years in the past? or Those who are currently residing in TN continuously for 6 years?
Hi
First and foremost the meaning of domicile is where you are permanently residing or intend to return in future to reside because as of now you are currently staying somewhere temporarily.
Therefore you can have only one domicile and having more than one domicile is an offence.
Since domicile is proof of your residence , that is your claim that you are a permanent resident of a particular state, You will have to furnish documents to support that claim meaning your guardians or parents should be staying in that place for more than 6 years ( this is for Tamil nadu domicile) .For married woman your husband should satisfy the eligibility criteria.
and the documents required to prove this are
- Permanent resident proof for five years
- School leaving certificate
- Copy of Voter ID, Ration Card, Tax Receipt, Sale Deed, etc.
Check the Tamil nadu domicile form and try to ascertain if you can fill and furnish the details or documents asked in it.
Hope this answers your query!
