Doubts on LLB admission Process
Hello,
Even though CLAT is a popular law exam in the country among law aspirants as a good score in a national level exam like CLAT opens doors for an aspirant to get into the prestigious NLU's; there are various other state level and national level law exams that a candidate can give. Some of these are-
1. LSAT-India
2. AIL entrance test
3. Symbiosis entrance test (SET)
4. BVP CET Law
5. DU Law
6. AMU Law
7. BHU UET law
8. MAHA CET Law
9. KIITEE
10. IPU CET Law
And many others. If you wish to appear in any of the entrance exams, you need to first check the eligibility criteria and the colleges affiliated to the exam to figure out which college you want to get admission in. Good Luck!
CLAT is not the only entrance exam for admissiom to law neither is it Compulsory to take.
There are 2 types of law courses-
1. Five year integrated law course which combines a undergrad degree like BA, BCOM etc with Law henve the courses BA LLB, BCOM LLb etc in which you can take admissiom Directly after Class 12th.
2. Three year LLB courses for admission after you have already separately completed a graduation degree.
So if you seek admisison in Law after class 12th then CLAT is the most important entrance as it gives admission to top colleges- All the National Law Universities (NLUs) but there are other entrances too for other good colleges. Many top colleges like NLS Bangalore, NALSAR, NLIU Bhopal, NLU Jodhpur take admissiom through CLAT. It is also accepted by few private colleges.
If you are interested in 5 year Integrated course of Law after 12th then the forms to be filled are-
CLAT- All National Law Universities
AILET- National Law University Delhi
SLAT- Symbiosis Law School
LSAT- All Private Law colleges
IPU CET- IP University
PU BA/BCOM LLb- Panjab University, Chandigarh
MHCET- GLC Mumbai, ILS Pune, and other law colleges in Maharashtra
Christ University

Etc
But if you seek admission in law after graduation then CLAT is NOT for you. CLAT is only for 5 year law courses. There are separate entrances amd top colleges for 3 year law.
Here is a list of law entrances for 3 year LLB course
- DU LLB - Delhi University
MH CET- GLC mumbai, ILS Pune and other colleges in Maharashtra

PU LLB- Panjab University, Chandigarh
