Hardy Weinberg equilibrium principle states that the genetic variation in a population will remain constant from one generation to the next generation in the absence of a disturbing factor. This principle was first demonstrated by G. H. Hardy and Wilhelm Weinberg that is why it is called as Hardy-Weinberg principle.
