Fee structure for mbbs and required marks for mbbs seat
Hey! So if you’re thinking about MBBS, here’s a quick overview of the fee structure and marks needed, written just like an intern would explain it.
For government medical colleges, the fees are usually much more affordable. It can range from around fifty thousand to one lakh per year depending on the state. Some states even have lower fees for students under certain categories like SC, ST, or OBC.
On the other hand, private colleges can be a lot more expensive. Fees can go up to ten lakh or more per year, especially if it's under the management or NRI quota. Deemed universities also fall into the higher fee bracket.
Now coming to the marks; to get a government MBBS seat, your NEET score should ideally be above 600 for General category, especially through the All India Quota. For OBC, SC, or ST categories, the cutoff is usually lower, maybe around 500 to 580, depending on the state and seat availability.
If you're okay with a private college, then even scores between 250 to 450 can get you a seat, but the fees are higher. Just remember that cutoffs vary each year based on difficulty, competition, and seat intake.
All the best!
