Yes it is compulsory for government colleges and the prestigious School of Planning and Architecture. Most of the universities take both scores of NATA (National Aptitude test in Architecture) and JEE.
But there are top private colleges that take admission without jee or nata, they conduct admission with their private exams like:

- DY Patil college of architecture, Maharashtra
- RV College, Bangalore

I didn't attend the nata exam but I attended jee I got 75 percentile

Honestly you won't get into any top college like SPA, NIT with 75 percentile, but you must try in your state university. If you're from Delhi, try in IP university, there are chances of your getting an admission since some percentage of your 12th marks are also added. Otherwise just go for good private colleges.

And NATA is conducted twice a year. Second one is conducted around July. I think you can attempt that one
