No , TET exam is not required to be eligible for UGC NET ,to be eligible for UGC NET examination you need to have a minimum of 55% marks (50% for ST/SC/OBC/PwD) in the Master's degree . Candidates who are in their final year of qualifying exam can also apply for UGC NET examination. There's no upper age limit for Assistant Professor but yes there's upper age limit for Junior Research Fellowship. The upper age limit for Junior Research Fellowship is 30 years as on 1st January 2020 for Junior Research Fellowship.
So , you don't need to worry at all dear as TET is not required to be eligible for NET examination, prepare well, good luck for your examination.
