For private BDS colleges in Maharashtra in some of their fees structure they mention open fees and ews fees. The student is from open catering and has an EWS certificate, so in the college admission process the demand draft we would have to keep ready will be of EWS fees or open fees ? And similarly in subsequent years what fees would have to be paid?
Hello Student,
This is very important question and it's good that you are clarify it before taking admission.
If a student is admitted under the EWS category and the college has separated EWS fee structure approved by competent authority. Then the fee payable is generally the ews fee applicable to that seat, not the open category fee. The demand draft at the time of admission is usually prepared according to the fee category mentioned in the admission allotment and college guidelines.
For subsequent year as well, the fee is generally charged according to the category under which admission was granted, subject to the role and fee structure approved for that academic year. However, some colleges may have specific condition regarding concession and category verification.
To avoid any confusion, I will strongly recommend confirming the exact fee amount with the college admission office before preparing the demand draft. A small clarification now can save a lot of inconvenience later.
I hope this help, wishing the student a smooth admission process and successful future in BDS programming.
