A candidate needs to be graduate to fight this examination.
. All candidates must have as a minimum one of the following educational qualifications:
A degree from a Central, State or Deemed university
A degree received through correspondence or distance education
A degree from an open university
A qualification recognized by the Government of India as being equivalent to one of the above.
UPSC Exam Details : Age Limit
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on August 1 of the year of examination. For OBC the upper age limit is 35, and for SCand STthe limit is 37 years.

Indian Administrative Service is Premier Administrative Service in India. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Exam for this service. Exam for this service is conducted in two stages. First stage exam is calledIAS Prelims Examwhich is conducted to screen the candidates. Those who qualify first stage (IAS Prelims) Test are called forIAS Main Exam. Generally around fifteen times candidates of notified vacancies are called for IAS Main Exam.
Candidate must have completed 21 years of age. General category candidates are allowed 6 attempts and maximum age allowed is 32. There is no limit to number of attempts to SC/ST candidates and maximum age limit allowed is 37. OBC candidates have been given 9 attempts and maximum age allowed is 35.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold graduation degree. Candidate who have appeared in qualifying degree is also eligible for this exam.
