I am very to tell you but the JEE Rank that you have won't be able to get you a good college.
I am assuming that by a better college you mean NITs/IIITs and GFTS.
I suggest you that you try writing JEE again with better preperation,maybe you will be able to get a better rank this time.
Try getting a rank under 6K,that can surely gurantee you a Seat in any of the reputed college.
