I've got friends who did not take any coaching and managed cracking this entrance in their first attempt, but then they ensured that they had the requisite amount of self discipline, motivation and the zeal to do well through out the course of their preparation. Such people in my opinion are very few in number, but they do exist! All you need is a clear cut lay out of a plan of action and what you do about it. Once that is ready and you have faith in yourself, go ahead!
The recipe to success for NEET is to know it's a marathon you are running. It's not a sprint.
The following ingredients in order of priority, will help you realise your dreams and goals:
1. SELF BELIEVE. The most important thing. On some days you will doubt yourself, don't give up. If you fall down, get back up and keep on going. Watch motivation videos and do positive visualisations. It will help you guys form a subconscious belief of success and wiring your brain to work hard.
2. Discipline. Schedule. Remember it's a marathon and you need to train for it. So have a schedule because over time it becomes a habit and following the schedule only becomes easier over time. Generally speaking, first 50-60 days are difficult to form the habit. That's where you show discipline and strictness with yourself. After that magic number the schedule and habit is ingrained in your head and it only gets easier.
3. CONCEPTS over rote memorisation. Solve a lot of MCQS. Clear doubts. Never be ashamed of clearing your doubts but be proud of it. Always clear doubts. Explain concepts to your friends it's a hack to help you memorise in the long run by taking those concepts to your long term memory.
4. HARD WORK. CONSISTENCY. FALLING DOWN, GETTING BACK UP. NEVER QUITTING. SELF BELIEVE. It's a marathon remember. There are gonna be days when you would wanna quit but don't give in. SELF BELIEVE and a positive attitude along with hard work will take you to your dreams.
5. CLEAR CONCEPTS EITHER ONLINE BY LEARNING DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND CONCEPTS ON YOUTUBE OR KHAN ACADEMY. Go to your friends and peers for help. Have someone who you could approach for clearing concepts.
It is difficult to clear NEET without coaching but yes it's not impossible .
It's obvious that even if u join any coaching institution u will have to study on ur own no teacher or institute can do that for u so the self study part is common whether u join any institute or not .
Now what's the difference .
The difference is between the resources u have .
U have a teacher when u join any coaching . A teacher who will always be there to help u . from whom u can ask any doubt of any kind and maybe in some time ur teacher understands u and will be able to tell u ur mistakes (that's what happened with me ).
U can do biology and chemistry on ur own but it's really tough to do physics without any help ( though not impossible ) .
Second difference is that in coaching institute u will have to complete a part of syllabus in time allotted because u have regular tests which is really good that helps u in keeping proper track of ur performance .
And when u join any institute u get a group of friends with whom u can discuss ur queries not only subject related but also any other problem as they are also in the same phase .
Hi farhat,
you can join various online services and take up online tests for the same, but since the level of competative exams have increased going out for coaching is a much better idea as they will physically improve your week sectors and prepare you for the competition being present in the competition.

Can you please elaborate on getting experience in neet?
But regarding the coaching or self study part, here is what I think -
I had joined an institution in Kota in my 11th class. Now I'm in my 3rd semester of mbbs. And for me those 2 years were the best intellectual years of my life.
I didn't had a previous tuition experience so joining one was a first for me. I learnt how to make actual notes. I learnt the real meaning of group study. I saw how a teacher can enrapture a crowd of more than 200 students at once and accentuate the learning ability of every single one of them.
I still remember what I learned that time. I never did have to self study so thoroughly, like I do know, to know my subject. Attending the classes was more than sufficient. Our self study involved practice questions, which made a plus one and not the base of the subject. That was made by the classes I attended.
These were all the things that I needed and if given a second chance I won't change the way I got them.
It might seem like it but I'm not promoting coaching here. What I'm trying to convey is that everyone has there own requirements. Mine required me to join a coaching cause I don't have the patience and will power to follow a schedule and study alone without any discussion. And these two things are a must if you are going for self study.
So analyse yourself. Categorise your needs and see that they are fulfilled. There are many things one shouldn't do and one of them is to not admit that they require assistance.
So best of luck and have a great life :)
Hi Farhat
Thanks for the Tag :-)
Neet level seems to be increased since last year. It is really great if you can clear it without coaching. You can follow the module of different coaching institutes and join online classes too, and avail the benefits from home. With coaching, you have the opportunity to directly compete with the people already in the competition from the very beginning onwards, while u miss this opportunity or get late for the same when studying by self.
For same, u can join online test series of national level and face the people already in the competition.
Hope this answer helps.
