Hi, as you know starting from this year there will be 10% reservation for students belonging to EWS category. Although cut off marks change every year depending on a no. of factors, you can expect the cut off marks for EWS category to be less by at most 10 marks. Last year the cut off for B.A Hons Arts for regular seats was 205 marks(1568 cut off rank) and for paid seats was 200 marks(1821 cut off rank). Considering these, unfortunately, the chances of getting admission in BHU Main Campus are a little less.
In BHU first of all the regular seats in the main campus are filled and once they are full, then the counselling for the paid seats in the main campus are conducted and at last the seats in affiliated colleges are filled.
Your friend has some chance of geeting admission in the colleges affiliated to BHU like:
