Your religious identity would entirely depend upon the religion which is followed by your parents. Whether they are followers of Islam, Hinduism , Christianity, etc. you will immediately come under the same to that of your parents until you selectively object to follow your birth religion and intend to change it. Your place of present residence won't affect your religious identity.

In India, except Hinduism , all other religions fall under minority. Since you are a follower of Hinduism, you do not fall under minority category based on religion. This would apply all over India. Since you're not a minority, you do not necessarily require any documents for the same.
