Hi,i got 23k rank in jee main 2019,am expecting a seat in CS in JOSSA counselling,can i retain this seat and participate in Special Round.

You can retain the seat you got in JoSAA counselling.And you can participate in Special round organised by CSAB.But there is a rule for special round.First you have to pay the fees for special round.After that if you alloted a seat in special round you have to take that seat ,it is compulsory,but if you dont take the seat you will lose your both seats.If you dont get any seats in special round then money will be refunded.

According to the csab counseling rule which states that

• Candidates who have participated in josaa and got alloted a seat ,they are also eligible for participating in the specials rounds for nits/iiits/gftis(not for iits).

So you can participate in special round after retaining your seat as well.

Yes the seat that you get in the seven rounds of JOSAA counselling will be retained by you even if you participate in the special rounds of counselling. However, in the special rounds of counselling you are required to fill in your choices again and deposit a certain amount of money. The alloted seat is removed from the choice filling list. Yes you can take this seat then again sit for csab counseling. Csab counseling is the special rounds counseling for those who have not got any seat in the 8 rounds or for those who want to get a better seat than they have git in the 8 rounds. So you can always go for a better option
