In order to become an engineer in airforce, the first step one needs to take is complete his or her B.Tech preferably in aerospace engineering . Once an individual is done with a B.Tech degree he or she can apply for an AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) entrance exam.
If one scores well in AFCAT he or she can join Indian Air Force as Flying Officer in Flying Branch and Aeronautical Engineer in Technical Branch. Not only that a there are several positions for a Mechanical Engineer available as well.

B.Tech graduates can join Indian Air Force as Flying Officer in Flying Branch and Aeronautical Engineer in Technical Branch. Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE), Flying (Pilot) Short Service Commission and National Cadet Corps Special Entry are three modes through which B.Tech graduates can join Flying Branch. Direct Entry Scheme and University Entry Scheme (UES) are two entry options available for aspirants to join the Technical Branch in Indian Air Force.
