How can I get admission in IIT?

To get admission into any indian institute of technology you have to first apply for jee mains and then by scoring good score and qualifing jee mains you would get eligible to appear for jee advance and then by getting qualified in jee advance you can option to get admission into any prestigious college of engineering like iits .

As well as to get admission into any iits atleast you need to score 75 percentage in your 12th boards exam.

Indian Institute of technology is the top engineering colleges in India. To get admissions in IIT's you for UG you need to qualify in the JEE Mains entrance exam and should get a good rank in JEE Advanced. Based on the rank in JEE advanced you will get into top IIT's.

To get admissions in IIT's for PG you need to get a good rank in GATE.

The procedure to get into an Indian Institute of Technology is either through JEE Advanced or GATE exam.

The JEE Advanced exam is for BT3ch. admission and GATE is for MTech. admission. You need to score very good rank in either of the exams to get into the IIT.

Firstly you have to pass your board exams with PCM as main subjects with least 75 % aggregate. The criteria may differ based on caste system that you can check on the JOSAA website.



Then you have to qualify the JEE MAINS and ADVANCE exams.For admission in IITs the marks of JEE MAINS does not affect your rank, as the whole ranking is based on what you scored in the JEE ADVANCE.



After the ranks are declared after ADVANCE , you have to fill preferences for the various IITs with particular stream in them . Then within few days counseling starts ,the preference which suits your rank and the availability of seat will lead to the allotment of the seat.



Then within a particular time period you to confirm your seat if you are taking admission in IIT.There is also an option that you can confirm your seat but wait for the remaining counselling if you are something better than what you got now.



After registration,then it goes to individual IITs ,each IIT will final its date of admission and the procedure and documents required for it.All this information will be available on the institute website and also on JOSAA.
