Don't get overwhelmed by thinking it's very difficult to crack. The first step is the decision to do justice to your choice. If you choose it then believe you can do it. Don't worry about what other students are doing.
1. Stick to a schedule and a time table. Make sure to have some break every now and then. Get some physical activity which helps both mentally and physically to take off the stress.
2. Always believe in yourself. You'll have ups and downs but it's a marathon and not a sprint. Believing that you could it would take you a long way.
3. Focus on concepts over memorising things without understanding. Read all the NCERT books because they really help. And then go to other books recommended by your tutor or as written in other comments.
4. Practise a lot of MCQs. Make sure you strictly stick to the syllabus. Don't worry about what others are doing. Solve previous year question papers.
5. Get your doubts cleared. Whatever you don't understand ask a friend or teacher to explain. No matter how long it takes clear your doubts. ALWAYS CLEAR YOUR CONCEPTS, NEVER BE ASHAMED, BE PROUD OF IT!
6. Help your peers with clearing their concepts. As it will cement the material in your mind. Whenever we teach someone else we learn it so much better and it goes in long term memory. Will help you retain the concepts for way longer.
