BSc is a 3-year UG degree course which deals with subjects such as mathematics, physics, biology, and chemistry. This course is mainly pursued by candidates who are interested in scientific aptitude and have an interest in research-oriented programs.
Admission to BSC in India is done through both the entrance exam and on the basis of a merit list prepared by most of the popular colleges such as Delhi University, the University of Calcutta based on the candidate’s intermediate scores. The application form for admission to the course is mainly open between March to July every year.
Some of the colleges also conduct an entrance examination for admission to the course. Students who meet the eligibility criteria of the entrance exams, need to go through two simple steps to get selected at the BSC colleges and universities.

Some of the colleges such as Lady Shriram College, Miranda House, Hindu College, offer admissions through merit lists prepared by those colleges based on their Class 12th marks.
Universities like Banaras Hindu University, Aligarh Muslim University, Orissa University Agriculture and Technology, IISER, CMC Vellore, etc provide admissions on the basis of various entrance examinations.
The eligibility criteria of the BSC course is:
- Candidates must have cleared their Class 12th in science subjects with a minimum percentage of 50% to 60% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
- They must have core subject combinations like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in their 10+2 level of education.
