How is cutoff for colleges are determined , if one has given jee mains and advanced both ?How it will be different for students who has given only mains ?
Hi Shalu,
The JEE Main cutoff for colleges depends upon these factors:-
- Total number of seats available
- Difficulty level of exam
- Previous year cutoff trends
- Number of candidates appearing for the exam
- Number of candidates applying for a course
Clearing JEE Mains you can get only into NIT's, CFIT's and state level colleges not IIT's.
To get admission into IIT's you have to clear JEE Advanced.

Good Luck!
Hi,
Cutoffs for colleges are decided on the basis of seats filled in the NITs and IITs. I would like to inform you that while filling the seats in the JOSAA counselling, IITs, NITs, GFTIs are listed altogether. So it depends on you which choices you are filling. But the admissions and seats will be allocated on the basis of your result in both the exams.
