How is the profession of a cabin crew ....? and which is the best airline to join...?
Hello aspirant
Any candidate who is 12th passed students, Diploma holders, as well as graduates can apply to be a cabin crew.
- Mastery in conversational English, Local Language, and other foreign languages are desired.
- 18 – 26 years of age (This actually depends from airline to airline, some might only hire you if you’re 21)
- 10+2 with a degree in hospitality, or other graduate degrees (Every airline requires you to finish 12th grade (any subject) before applying)
- The height of minimum 157.5 centimeters (for females) and 170 cm (for males)
- Minimum eyesight requirement is 6/9. Many airlines allow candidates to correct eyesight and make it 20/20!
- Weight proportionate to the height
Eligible for an Indian Passport
The profession has the following responsibility:
- Taking care of in-flight announcements and inter-department coordination.
- Ensuring the safety of passengers.
- Ensuring comfort of passengers
- Helping passengers on board, assisting them with their luggage, seats etc
- Providing food, reading material, blankets and other such items to passengers
Explaining safety procedures to passenger
Air hostess training is not mandatory or essential to get into this profession. Self-preparation is needed. However, some institutes have come up in India and are offering training to develop the basic skills required for the profession.
