No , in mbbs 1 year is not 1.5 year , actually mbbs is a 5.5 year long course in which you study for 4.5 year and then do 1 year of rotating internship. In that 4.5 year , there are a total of 9 semesters and each semester is of each six months and each semester consists of at least 120 teaching days approximately.
