There are approximately 7400 MBBS seats in Tmailnadu Medical Colleges. This includes both Government and Private Medical Colleges. There is a 20% reservation for MBS in Tamilnadu. Now all these 7400 seats are not Government seats. They are inclusive of Govt. seats of GMCs, Govt. Seats of Private Medical Colleges, Management Quota and NRI seats. There are approximately 3250 Govt. MBBS seats only in GMCs. And Tamilnadu follows 40:50:10 ration in Private Medical Colleges.
