Total number of seats available in IITs and NITs are as follows:
Seat in IIT are -11,169
Seat in NIT are-17,868
But, even in these few are new IITs and NITs, so it will be better if you opt for good old NIT instead of a new IIT or a good state college instaed of new NIT. Hope this helps.
